1. INTRODUCTION

This Privacy Policy describes how Mqttfy ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Mqttfy: Unified MQTT & BLE Dashboard Automation mobile application (the "App").

2. DATA COLLECTION AND USE

Mqttfy is a local-first dashboard. Most data remains on your device. However, certain third-party services integrated into the App may collect information.

A. Sensitive Permissions

The App requests the following permissions for core functionality:

  • Location: Required for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanning. We do not track your movement.
  • Camera: Used for IP Camera feeds and QR/Barcode scanning.
  • Audio: Used for the Audio Spectrum visualization widget.
  • Bluetooth: Used for industrial sensor communication.

B. Third-Party Services (Data Processors)

To provide features, we use the following third-party providers who may collect data as per their own privacy policies:

  • Google AdMob: Used to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID) to serve personalized ads and for fraud prevention.
  • Google Play Billing: Used to process in-app purchases and subscriptions safely through the Google Play Store. We do not store your payment information on our servers.
  • Google Firebase (Analytics & Cloud): Used for crash reporting, performance monitoring, and remote configuration. Firebase may collect anonymous usage statistics and device identifiers.

3. DATA SAFETY & SHARING

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • Automation Data: Your MQTT topics, payloads, and BLE data are sent only to the brokers/devices you configure. We have no access to this information.
  • Payment Data: Handled strictly by Google Play.

4. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

All configuration data is stored on your device. You can delete this by clearing App data or uninstalling the App. For any data handled by third-party services (like Google Play transaction history), retention is governed by their respective policies.

5. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

6. SECURITY

We use hardware-backed encryption (EncryptedSharedPreferences) to protect your sensitive local data, such as MQTT credentials.
